The whole point of me joining the world of blogging was to expand my literary horizons..Have been reading amazing stuff here!!Made some amazing friends and my friends here say I am improving myself!!(I know you all are just being generous..But thanks a lot anyways..means a lot!!)..And this morning I came across Lena's first nonnet..and that kinda got to me!!So I thought to write one myself and going with the festive season...I thought this month it should all be be about winters,snow,Christmas,friends,presents(oh that reminds me thanks a lot Stephen for my first award!!)and selfless love!!
My first nonnet...bear with me..here goes nothing!!
Here's something you should know that is for sure,
Christmas is round the corner;you can't ignore,
But this Christmas must be something more,
Than just climbing up every door,
And placing there a mistletoe.
Put aside your ego,
Befriend your foe,
Be mellow,
Fellow!!

I know it sounds stupid...but nonetheless I had fun writing it!!Hell lotta fun...and since it is the advent season..be excited for all the gifts you all are gonna get!!(Have started making some for my closest friends here!!)cause I surely am....and lets make this Christmas one we all remember forever!!
P.S.And for all those who still don't know what a nonnet is..then let me do the honors of telling you..

A Nonnet is a type of poem which has the following requirements:
- It has nine lines
- The first line has 9 syllables, the second 8 syllables, the third 7 syllables until the ninth line which has one syllable.

If I should be critical, I don't think the meter is quite iambic... And dude, nine syllables does not mean nine words. :)
Congrats on the award. I am sure it will inspire you to go a long way not just at writing, but in all your endeavours.

By iambic, I mean the stress is on every alternate syllable.

I do know that nine syllables does not mean nine words...and i tried with syllable count..but it was more clueless..and when I checked other blogger's nonnet...they too retorted to stick with words rather than syllable,,,so I thought what the heck!!

and as per the iambic part i couldn't work with syllables..don't get me started on iambs!!

and yes like kartz commented- syllables are not words...
for example- lovable has 3 syllables
as u split the word sa- lov-a-ble
akshat has 2 syllables- ak-shat
divya has 2 syllables - div-ya
idea has 2 as well - i-dea
feel has one syllable- coz u dont split the word when u pronounce it ;)
