The day was like a blank page...nothing written,nothing planned...but it was longing to be filled....There was chaos in my head. Should I catch up on those novels I was dying to get my hands on or should I go watch a movie??..My undecided mind was still in turmoil when the phone rang. It was a while since I had seen Nick's number on my phone screen...The moment I heard his familiar voice everything rushed back to me!!..The time we had vowed to be best friends forever..no matter what happened..the infinite times we had saved each others back from being caught by our school staff when we had relentlessly broke those thousand school rules..But it had been years since we last talked!!...Expecting it to be an awkward and long call..it caught me by surprise that we caught up on each other like oil on fire...just like old times...We were laughing, making fun of each other, teasing each other, remembering our now-seemingly-stupid but the then-seemingly-valorous act....It was like we had traveled months back..when we were still best of friends... He asked me whether I had any plans for today...and I reflexively said 'NO' just like before...
We decided to meet up at Costa Coffee in an hour...it reminded me of those days when all our friends used to bunk school and rush to CC..It was our 'the most common haunt' in those days...It used to seem like we would have died if we all didn't meet up every alternate day!!..I was running late as always but when I reached CC...I was shocked...everyone was there Nick, Sid, Koel, Aditi, Mia..everyone..sitting on their usual seats laughing, smiling, sitting around that round table with just 'one cup of espresso' on it just like those old days...
It took us an hour or so just to settle down..It never seemed like ages had passed when we had last seen each other except for some few things..like Sid's long and kinda boring stories of all those places he had traveled...Nick's new interest in the political front...Koel's list of new crushes...Aditi's list of new stores where she buys something everyday...and Mia...except that she had become more beautiful..she hadn't changed one bit!!...Time flew like it used to fly in those days...we went to all our previous haunts..the lounge...eating our fave ice creams in our fave parlor....It was extremely nostalgic!! We hadn't changed one bit!!The bond we shared then was just as uncanny as now!!It still seemed like it was just yesterday when we had last met...our friendship was still strong if not stronger....and then it struck me that we would be 'friends forever'..no matter what!!
Friends I would never want to lose....friends I would die for.....friends who were my life...and who would always be just the same for me no matter what happens!!

This is my answer to Mia's question she asked me yesterday..'Where do I see all of us after years pass and our school years are over and we are no more close as we are now??'...Though I bailed on the question yesterday...but I am more than sure it would be something like this if not better!!!

Me grown up??...well that was the whole point as in I was to answer 8-9 years down the lane.....so I thought till then I'd have grown up a bit!! :P
And as for the changed names....haven't asked them...and I am gonna use them a few more times in my blog...so I thought some of them would be offended a bit...:D
Indeed, it does feel oh-so-euphoric when one gets to take that trip down memory lane. Rendezvous' of this kind stay frozen through time...
